Sesame Street Birthday!

Sesame Street is probably the most popular educational shows geared towards children. There is a good chance your daughter or son craves a Sesame Street themed birthday party but the task of honoring such a monumental aspect of their development can seem daunting. Here are some simple things you can do you ensure this birthday party will never be forgotten.

The addition of some simple card-stock cutouts can transform plain party hats to a child's new favorite dress-up accessory.

This would be such a great centerpiece that will keep the children giggling throughout the party. Cookie Monster is stuck inside a glass cookie jar just out of reach of his favorite snack. If your son or daughter already has a Cookie Monster stuffed

A great party game that will keep the party people entertained is Oscar's Trash Toss. Balled up rags make perfect trash bundles for this game. This picture shows a metal can which very closely resembles Oscar's home but you could use any type of bucket and add a few touches like silver paper or paint to create the effect of metal.

This display of fruit and vegetables may be the perfect way to get the little ones excited about eating healthy choices. They will be so excited about their favorite characters in the form of food that it will be so easy to sneak healthy foods into their diet.

This image shows everything you can do to add some spice to the decorations. An Oscar pinata is also shown and, believe it or not, it is so easy to make. Take a large round blown up balloon and cover it in paper mache. Then, when the paper mache dries, pop the balloon and cut out a square of the top. The final touches are added with tissue paper and colored card-stock and you're ready to go!

Make a Sesame Street bowling activity with everybody's favorite characters. You can find printables like these online and then just recycle some old soda bottles to make the bowling pins. The good thing about this game is you can determine how difficult is appropriate for the age group you are hosting the party for and adjust the lane length accordingly. 

These goody bags are so easy and will make an impact on the children for sure. They can take home their favorite personality. Once again, card-stock will be the perfect material to make the Sesame Street faces.

You can make the perfect Cookie Monster or Elmo cake with this technique. You can get the pointed icing by cutting the corner off of a plastic bag, putting the icing in the bag, and then dabbing on the icing to make the fur. They eyes and mouth can be plastic like shown here or you can just use different colored icing to get a similar effect.
